Letter N Play Ideas
Build a Nest
Try making a nest building sensory bin with your kiddo this week. All you need is paper scraps!
Round up leftover paper scraps from other activities or have your child cut up some paper to add in some fine motor skills practice.
If you want a more natural nest building bin use brown paper bags as a base. Or use colorful strips of construction paper, cardstock, or patterned paper.
And, try adding some of these extras to your nest sensory bin:
- Plastic eggs or other egg-shaped items
- Small stuffed animal birds
- Plastic model birds
- Bits of yarn or string
- lengths of ribbon
- Twigs
- Gummy worms to feed the baby birds
- Safety scissors for your child to continue to cut the paper and work on fine motor skills
Play with Noodles
Noodles are a frugal option for fine motor or sensory activities. Here are some things to do with noodles this week:
- Use dry macaroni or other pasta as a base for a sensory bin
- Make patterns with colored noodles
- Play with cooked pasta as a fun sensory activity
- Paint dry noodles
- Glue noodles to paper
- Use noodles as counters
- Form letters or words with noodles
- Make a necklace using macaroni, ziti or other tube-shaped pasta
- Eat noodles!:)
Have fun learning about Letter N this week!
