Letter R Play Ideas
Letter R week is a great time to learn about rainbows and colors.
We just did a Rainbow Color Investigation Sensory Bin that was so much fun!

How to Make a Rainbow by SciShow Kids
You can incorporate rainbow colors into almost any play or sensory activity you do. Below I’ve listed a few ideas.
- Build Rainbows with Playdough
- Build a fruit rainbow using things like berries, oranges, kiwi, and melon
- Draw rainbows with crayons, colored pencils, markers, or paint
- Practice name writing by putting letters in rainbow color order
- Write the alphabet in rainbow colors
- Draw a line of numbers in rainbow order
- Dye rice in small batches to make a rainbow colored rice bin
- Make a rainbow sensory bin by adding elements like the ones below to a bin
- Ribbon pieces in rainbow color
- Beads in rainbow color
- Colored water beads
- Broken crayons
- Construction paper strips
