This spring I made a set of Spring I Spy Pages for my kiddos to color. And, they were a huge hit with not only my kids, but my readers as well! So, I decided to make a set of summer I spy pages (grab them at the end of this post) for some new fun summertime coloring!

I spy is such a great game for kids to play! It helps them practice so many skills in a fun and easy way, all while coloring.

And, with three levels of detail and difficulty, these pages should give your kiddos quite a few fun coloring sessions this summer!

Coloring Your I Spy Pages

We do a lot of coloring and drawing in our homeschool and are constantly buying new art supplies. For the summer, we bought our kids each a tin of new colored pencils.

And, we really love them! Our roadschooling lifestyle means that we’re on the road and outdoors a lot of the time and need to be able to easily and quickly grab coloring supplies to take with us.

Having the tins makes them easy to grab and throw in a backpack, bring in the car, or carry to the picnic table. And, the best part is they’re reusable, so when they need new pencils we can just buy new packs and put them in the tins.

Our Favorite Coloring Supplies:

Crayola Coloring Tin –  This tin was my daughter’s choice and we were surprised by this set of pencils. They are gel colored pencils and color so well! The color is bright, heavy, and beautiful.

Prisma Color Tin – My son is using this tin and we always love the bright vibrant texture of these Prisma color pencils.

Printer – This is the printer we use to do all of our printing. And, I love it! It was pricey and wasn’t our first printer because I hesitated at the cost.

However, we bought this printer over a year ago and I have yet to change the ink in it. I print A LOT. Almost daily actually. And, I needed a printer that would print in color and black & white and not need costly ink replacements every month.

And, this printer has been truly great for keeping ink purchases way down. It actually came with a set of ink bottles when we bought it and we only put in half of each bottle and still, I haven’t had to refill it.

I highly recommend it if you’re currently buying a lot of printer ink.

Heavy Printer Paper – I suggest printing these on heavier than average paper.

They take a while to complete and if your kids are anything like mine then these pages will be dragged in and out of the house and colored over many days. I printed ours on a heavy printer paper and it helps the pages stand up to the wear and tear.

Summer I Spy Coloring Pages

I made three pages for this activity. Each a little harder in difficulty with the pages having increasingly more and smaller items. My kids have a 4-year age gap, so I always try to make activities that they can do together. And, these pages are fun for mom to do as well!

  • 3 Levels of Difficulty
  • 1st Page – This one is the most detailed page. It includes 20 different images in increments up to 10 of each to find and color.
  • 2nd Page – This page is for children who want more of a challenge than the easy page but still aren’t ready for the hardest level. It contains 12 different images in groups of up to 6 each to find and color.
