Christmas Penguin Writing Prompts
This freebie includes 3-pages of Christmas Penguins Writing Prompts. They are done on primary writing lines and feature Christmas penguins. But, I also included one page with all three prompts on it, so that bigger kids could use the same prompts during writing time.
These are intended to be a creative writing activity so kiddos can come up with their own imaginative scenarios in response to the fun prompts. Like what movie they would watch with a penguin, and what they would feed a penguin at Christmas dinner.
But you could also take the opportunity to discuss what a penguin diet really looks like. And, also what a penguin habitat would need. For instance, would a penguin really like to cozy up by a warm fire on Christmas Eve?

Ways to use these prompts
These prompts are perfect for storytelling as well as writing.
Young kids often have a lot more in their imagination than they feel confident in putting down on paper. So, it’s also fun to read the prompt to your child and see what they come up with without the pressure of writing their response.
Another way to build a love of writing is to let them dictate a story to you. You can then use this story to talk about all kinds of writing elements with them.
It can also be the beginning of a collaborative writing project where you add to their story and then take turns adding details and new ideas. These kinds of activities are sure to build confidence in their ability to write.
